Chain Breakers

The world is your mission field. You have a reason for being here and it isn’t to have a good, happy and successful life, although you might have one. You have the opportunity to change the world. You have the chance to save someone’s soul. You can plant hope where there was none. Yet many of us remain silent instead of sharing the Gospel.

We’re afraid but why? For many of us the worst that will happen is rejection and ridicule. In other parts of the world our brothers and sisters are being persecuted and yet they continue to share the Gospel. What’s the difference? I want to be that on fire. Why have so many of us never claimed our boldness? The Bible is full of boldness and people on fire – how do we get that? Acts demonstrates outreach and boldness perfectly. Look at what God said to Paul:

“And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, ‘Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.” – Acts 18:9-10

So what’s the difference? Prayer. It doesn’t mean you will be spared from rejection, ridicule or persecution but what’s more important to your life – temporary life or eternal salvation? We’re all called to go out and make disciples. We’re instructed in Acts 1:8 to go to the end of the earth as His witness. He’s equipped us with everything we need to be faithful sharers of the Gospel.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

God wants you to start right now – in whatever capacity. It might start with family or friends or coworkers but it starts now. It might be as simple as a cup of coffee with an acquaintance.

This is a call to action! Put aside the excuses and the fear and share the Gospel. Free people from their bondage by introducing them to the chain breaker – Jesus. As one of my friends said: “Christ breaks chains – it’s what He does for a living.” Not sharing the Gospel is like having a cure for a disease and not sharing it.

What’s holding you back? Let me put this another way: If you’re not sharing Jesus, you’re helping Satan. You’re allowing the enemy to keep a captive who could be one for Christ. Which side do you want to be on? Personally, I want to be on Team Chain Breakers!

I pray that this post lifts you up and inspires you. I pray that the right people read this message and are convicted to apply it to your life. I pray that you step out in faith and share Jesus – He’ll do all the heavy lifting.
